An educated and highly-skilled workforce is critical for any city to compete globally. Boys & Girls Clubs' programs emphasize academic achievement and expose youths to various industries and career paths. Members also learn how to form good study habits through Power Hour, a designated time for completing assignments after school.

Boys & Girls Club of Alice firmly believe that today's members are tomorrow's future leaders. That is why each Club offers programs to build the confidence, dignity and pride of our members. Leadership training, community service outings and volunteer opportunities ensure that all Club members can discover the benefits that come with making a difference.

When it comes to building positive behaviors that lead to healthy lifestyles it's best to start early. Adopting healthy habits early will benefit children later as adults who are able to make positive decisions about their minds, bodies and relationships.

The Arts develops Club members their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts and crafts. It also provides them with opportunity to express their creativity, build their confidence and learn new skills.

At Boys & Girls Clubs, sports and fitness has long been popular among our members. Whether it's a team or individual sport, children and teens gain valuable life lessons, new interests and build self-confidence in other areas of their lives. Whether competitive or non-competitive, beginner or advanced, or 5-year-olds or 18-year-olds, the Clubs has the right program for every member.

The Boys & Girls Club of Alice is a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. We integrate Boys & Girls Clubs of America's five core areas to promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

Today's youth have a familiarity with technology unlike generations that have preceded them, a skill that is vital to success in school and on the job. Yet with more than 8 million young people lacking regular access to a computer, many will be left facing life-long challenges.

Club Tech, BGCA’s digital literacy program, aims to make technology accessible, intriguing and fun. Through the Club Tech suite of programs, kids learn how to use basic business software, be safe online and learn advanced hardware and networking skills.

The Boys & Girls Club of Alice Garden Club provides many educational opportunities for the youth at the elementary, middle and high school level.

The purpose of the youth gardening programs is to introduce gardening, conservation, protection of wildlife, recognition of plants, trees and shrubs, basic flower arrangements, and a love and appreciation of nature.

The goal is that they will be future citizens who will be responsible and capable with greater self-expression, dignity, integrity and knowledge of their environment.
